This sneaker company wanted to start building their brand using META/Facebook ads and Instagram.

When they approached me, they had zero recent sales from FB or Insta. But, their main challenge was that they had been shut down due to some sloppy work from an inexperienced media buyer.

A full audit was completed and the client immediately saw that the previous media buyer had grown the brand too fast and too quickly, leading to excessive account shut downs and a disabled ad account. I re-installed a fresh pixel, launched new creatives TOF and dialed into the client's audiences.

This ecom store came to me when 80% of their brick and mortar sales vanished overnight due to the 2020 global lockdown. (COVID - 19 novel virus)

What kind of Pilot Are You? 
I am a licensed FAA Commercial Pilot, specialized in Single Engine Land with additional qualifications in Rotary and Instrument privileges for both. My training was conducted by the U.S. Navy.  Throughout my career, I have accumulated over 2,000 hours in rotary-wing and a total of over 4,000 flying hours. 
How do you adapt strategies for different brands?
Each brand's unique identity and goals guide my strategy adaptation. I start with a thorough analysis of the brand's market position, target audience, and competition. This insight, combined with ongoing data-driven evaluations, allows me to tailor marketing strategies that resonate specifically with each brand's needs
Where did you learn coywriting? 
My copywriting skills are a blend of formal education and real-world experience. I initially honed my skills through a combination of academic courses in marketing and communications, supplemented by various online courses focused specifically on copywriting. However, the bulk of my learning came from hands-on experience. 
What percentage of your work is on platforms such as Upwork?  
Upwork remains a vital platform for connecting with serious business owners. In 2023, I took a brief hiatus from freelancing to welcome our first baby with my wife. As of 2024, my work distribution is quite balanced: 60% of my projects are with previous clients. Upwork accounts for 30% of my workload, continuing to be a significant source of new and diverse opportunities. The remaining 10% is dedicated to personal projects.
What happened to your agency, Red Trolley? 
Red Trolley LLC was a significant chapter in my professional journey. However, due to personal circumstances, I made the decision to close the agency. This transition led me to embrace freelancing full-time, allowing for greater flexibility and the opportunity to focus more deeply on individual projects and client relationships.

The year 2023 was a period of significant personal change for me, as I welcomed the arrival of my first child with my wife. This joyful event led me to take a step back from work to focus on my growing family.
